In 1988, Jay Eliason, who owned grain silos in Des Moines, IA., began Farmers Grain Express, Inc. (FGX), as an asset-based, dry bulk carrier. Mr. Eliason partnered with Robert Collins, who had extensive knowledge in brokering bulk transportation, to manage and grow the business. It was not long before FGX recognized the increasing need in liquid and dry bulk logistics. They phased out the assets to focus on nationwide transportation solutions for their expanding list of clientele. What began as an asset-based carrier to service the grain industry, quickly grew to accommodate other supplier’s transport and logistics needs. For three decades, FGX has maintained an impeccable reputation with clients and carriers alike of being trustworthy, knowledgeable and service centered in its transport management operation.
