Own the problem
Distressed shipments were treated as a company-wide responsibility. Communication opened immediately, and the team worked toward a resolution instead of passing the problem along.

Farmers Grain Express, Inc.
Since 1988, FGX has helped customers solve transportation challenges with the same principles that shaped the company from the beginning: accountability, communication, safety, and hard work.
Our story
Farmers Grain Express was built around a straightforward promise: provide service that customers can depend on. Long before real-time tracking and modern transportation software, that meant answering the phone, communicating changes, measuring performance, and taking ownership when a shipment became difficult.
Nearly four decades later, those expectations still guide how we work. Technology helps us coordinate more effectively, but relationships, judgment, and personal accountability remain at the center of the company.
A standard carried forward
From the company’s earliest years, FGX built its reputation around on-time performance, direct communication, qualified carriers, safe product handling, continuous learning, and fast response when a load became difficult.
Those standards were established through experience and reinforced across the company. They still shape how we serve customers, work with drivers, protect products, and take responsibility for every shipment today.
Standards that shaped FGX
The industry has evolved, but the operating principles established at FGX from the beginning remain recognizable in the way we serve customers today.
Distressed shipments were treated as a company-wide responsibility. Communication opened immediately, and the team worked toward a resolution instead of passing the problem along.
On-time pickup and delivery were tracked, carrier performance was reviewed, and service standards were evaluated daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
Drivers were recognized as an essential part of the customer experience. Equipment, documentation, product knowledge, safety, and professional conduct all mattered.
Tank seals, cleaning requirements, prior-product awareness, hazardous-material training, and operating procedures were treated as critical customer commitments.
Quality meetings, incident review, employee education, and open communication were used to raise the standard instead of settling for minimum expectations.
Timely, honest answers and fair business practices are the foundation for trust—and standards capable of standing the test of time.
Experience in motion
A transportation company founded on relationships, service, and the willingness to solve difficult freight problems.
FGX expanded its capabilities and relationships while maintaining high expectations for performance, safety, communication, and carrier accountability.
Trimble TMS, modern communication, and a flexible carrier network support the same hands-on service philosophy across North America.
How we operate now
FGX remains non-asset based, allowing our team to match qualified capacity and equipment to shipment-specific needs. Technology supports documentation and visibility; experienced people still make the decisions, communicate the changes, and answer for the outcome.
Transportation solutions throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
A qualified carrier network matched to product, equipment, facility, and timing requirements.
Clear expectations, proactive updates, honest answers, and experienced problem-solving.
